The Belgian Act concerning the Electronic Communication of 13 June 2005 contains some provisions about cookies and the use thereof on websites. The Belgian implementation is deduced of the European e-Privacy Regulation, which implies that the cookie usage and the cookie legislation is regulated differently in every European country. IKOAB provides an online trading platform which mainly targets the Belgian market and thus follows the Belgian interpretation.

2. Goals and utilities of cookies ?

IKOAB wishes to inform you as complete as possible about your rights under this legislation and about which cookies IKOAB uses. By using this website, you agree with the use of cookies. Cookies help IKOAB to optimize your visit to the website, to remember technical choices (such as language choices, newsletters, etc.) and to show you more relevant services and offers.

  • On the Privacy tab

  • Click OK.

In browser - Mozilla Firefox

  • Click 'Firefox' in the top left corner of your browser and then click 'Options.'
  • On the "Privacy" tab
  • make sure the "Let me know that I do not want to be followed" is not checked.
  • Click OK.

In browser - Google Chrome

  • Open Chrome.
  • Click ‘Advanced’.
  • Find the subsection of ‘Privacy and security’
  • Click ‘Content settings’.
  • Click on ‘Cookies’.
  • Then select ‘Allow sites to save and read cookie data’.

In browser - Safari

  • Click ‘Preferences’ in the taskbar. (You can find this in on the upper side of your screen).
  • Go to the ‘Privacy’ tab. Look for the section called ‘Cookies and other website data’.
  • Indicate that you allow cookies.

  • Click ‘Content settings’.
  • Click on ‘Cookies’.
  • Deactivate the option « Authorize the websites to register/ read the cookies data ».

If you use a Safari-type browser

  • Click ‘Preferences’ in the taskbar. (You can find this in on the upper side of your screen).
  • Go to the ‘Privacy’ tab. Look for the section called ‘Cookies and other website data’.
  • Choose to block the Cookies.

5 I’m not from Belgium. Is there a different form of permission for my country ?

It is possible for people outside Belgium to visit and use the IKOAB website. The EU member states often implement cookie legislation very differently, making it difficult for the person concerned to determine how to give permission. IKOAB aims to pursue the correct implementation method for every Member State, as far as this is technically and materially possible.

6 Rights of the users ?

Since cookies can constitute a processing of personal data, you are entitled to a legitimate and secure processing of those personal data. As a person affected by the processing of your personal data, you can exercise the following rights :

  • Right to objection: if there is a compelling and legitimate reason, you can object to the processing of personal data
  • Right to access: every affected person that can prove his/her identity, possesses the right to access the information about the possible processing of his personal data, the goals of such processing, the categories of data concerned in such processing and the categories of recipients of the data.
  • Right to rectification: incorrect or incomplete personal data can be corrected or even erased when requested by the person affected.

The exercise of these rights happens conform the modalities as determined in our Privacy Policy.
